Football Recap: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late go-ahead field goal to secure the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a chance to score a possible victory. However Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach commented following the contest.
